Meet Dominica

Dominica

Aspiring performer Dominica spent the summer at an arts camp, where she filled her days with dance and song. "But I like singing better," she admits. Her favorite song is "Umbrella" by Rihanna, but she also likes Justin Bieber, One Direction and Demi Lovato."

She loves movies, too – Lady and the Tramp is a top pick – and her preferred subject in school is math. "It's like singing, because notes are a lot like numbers."

This insightful young lady describes herself as "kind, happy, loud and full of energy. My friends always say I'm fun to be around." She likes shopping, playing games on the computer and talking on the phone, though like most teenagers, she's a rapid-fire texter. "Texting is just quicker," she notes. "So many people don't even pick up their phones anymore!"

While she does long for a mom and dad – "I want to celebrate Mother's Day and Father's Day" – she also hopes her future family comes with "a grandmother and grandfather and brothers and sisters and cousins and pets – I really want a dog."

Meet Storm

Storm

One word sums up Storm's single most favorite thing. Comics. Every conversation comes back to the super heroes in his favorite books. Unless of course you mention "family".

"I want to have one," says Storm.

Storm has only been in the foster care system a short time. He was being raised by his grandparents, until abuse was discovered. Storm is now ready for a new chapter in his life.

In the world of make-believe in his comics, the superhuman heroes rush in to save the day. Maybe you're the real-life hero Storm needs right now to help him overcome the obstacles he's faced. That would have to trump any comic by far.

You could show Storm that family means forever.

Meet Keturah

Keturah

Keturah is a bright, active and educationally capable teen. She is always on the go, likes animals and would someday like to become a veterinarian. Keturah wants to be heard and will make sure she gets her point across at any cost. Keturah can have challenges managing her emotions but is learning to see the glass as half full. We are seeking a family that has experience with behaviors and is willing to be there for her no matter what. She would do best in a structured home within a nurturing and supportive environment. Other children in the home would be welcome as she is very social and can easily attach. We are seeking an African American or bi-racial family as this teen has a strong cultural identity. She is searching for a family to call her own.

Meet Winny

Winny

This vibrant teen has an active, inquisitive mind and a warm heart to match. At school, Winny especially enjoys science class where she’s learning how the body works, about outer space and giant “black holes.” “We get to learn what nobody else knows,” she says. Her dream is to become a scientist, an astronaut or a doctor, and maybe return to her native Haiti so “I could help people there.”

Winny has a fondness for mermaids – she’s sure that she saw one once when she was on the beach in Haiti. She likes dogs, too, and thinks it would be fun to have a dog that was a mix of Chihuahua and a Cocker Spaniel. “We’ll call it a ‘Cockerhuahua!” she laughs. If she could visit any place in the world? “Rome – because they have such good pizzas.” This good-natured teen dreams of a family that will adopt her, and love and care for her like their own child.

Meet Consuela

Consuela

Consuela is a beautiful little girl who is full of energy and love. Consuela is a very polite young girl. She loves to be with her peers and enjoys having books. At the moment Consuela does not know how to read but has reported fulfillment by purchasing books and looking at their pictures. Consuela has support services in place to help her with her educational and emotional development. She has overcome a number of obstacles in her short life and is progressing in everyway. She is an easy girl to love and has an infectious smile. It is preferable that a family be identified that could provide permanency to Consuela and her brother, Jaccours.

Meet Antonio, Ashanti and Robert

Antonio, Ashanti and Robert

Antonio
Antonio’s an all-around cool kid who gets along with everyone. He’s got a friendly, open personality that enables him to be comfortable with all kinds of crowds, and his infectious curiosity livens up the motions of everyday life. Drawing is his absolute favorite thing to do, and he plans to match this with his love of writing and become a cartoonist when he grows up. Antonio has a very hopeful outlook on life, and tackles whatever difficulties he may face with optimism and energy. He’s really looking forward to having a dad who will play with him and help him with his homework, and to living in a neighborhood with lots of other kids.

Ashanti
Ashanti’s a super sweet and affectionate girly-girl, who loves her big brother tremendously. A lot of different things make this girl happy, including books, music, playing at the park, and (most especially) a pan of brownies fresh from the oven! She’s a talented singer and dancer, and thinks that she’d like to be an entertainer when she grows up. Ashanti really enjoys one on one attention, and she’s looking forward to having a mom to spend quality time with. She’s a caring and kind little girl who lives to give love, and who deserves a lot of love in return. These three great kids will thrive in a caring, experienced, two-parent home. Their talents and great personalities will flourish under consistent encouragement and love.

Robert is a special little boy who, despite the struggles he faces, loves to be loved. Like many kids his age, he has a playful and fun attitude towards just about anything, and though he can be shy with strangers those who take the time to know him well are rewarded by his sweet and sensitive nature. He likes to paint and draw, and shows a great amount of determination when trying new things, such as recently learning to ride a bike. With this inherent perseverance, there is no telling what Robert will be able to do in his life and may end up “surprising us all.” Robert will thrive in an experienced and loving two-parent household with his older brother and sister.

Meet Jacob

Jacob

Jacob is a twelve year old boy that enjoys drawing pictures, reading magazines and playing outside. In school he uses different kinds of technology to help him learn. Jacob receives several interventions to assist with his education and behaviors. Jacob sees an occupational therapist, speech therapist and a behavior analyst. He has become independent throughout the years and with his behavioral interventions he has continued to make progress. Jacob is in need of a loving and nurturing family that has a life long committment to meet his needs.

Meet Laquaila

Laquaila

Laquaila is an African American female born February of 1997. Meet Laquaila, an energetic and curious young lady. Laqualia has a great personality and loves to talk and express herself. She loves sports, track, and dance. Laquaila used to attend church and considers herself a Christian. Like many other teenagers, Laquaila can be self-centered. Like a lot of teenage girls her age Laquaila enjoys going to the mall, movies and likes getting her hair and nails done. Laquaila has an interest in taking care of animals and has an interest in veterinary science. Laqualia needs a family with strong parenting skills. Any family must be accepting of her strengths as well as her struggles and be committed to meeting her emotion and academic needs.

Meet Melissa and Fyheem

Melissa and Fyheem

"We have high hopes!"

There’s not a whole lot more you can say about a kid whose main goal in life is to become a philanthropist and world-changer of Oprah Winfrey proportions, but I’ll try. Fyheem’s a sweet and engaging young man with a quiet sense of humor. He’s not afraid of sharing his dreams with others, and he possesses an inspiring desire to help people. He’s fascinated by animals, especially wolves, and thinks that he’d like to become a veterinarian when he grows up. Fyheem’s a talented athlete and a caring little brother who loves spending time with his sister, especially if they’re watching the Twilight movies together, of which both kids are huge fans!

Melissa’s a driven young woman with some really big dreams. She has a passion for fashion, and her goal is to one day become the big designer that everyone wears. She worked hard at learning to sew, both by hand and machine, and she’s already begun her own fashion portfolio. She aspires to one day visit the fashion mecca of Paris, and when you speak with her in person you have no doubt that she’ll attain these dreams of hers. Melissa has a beautiful laugh and infectious energy, and she’s filled to the brim with potential. She loves her little brother very much, and wants to see him happy as often as possible.

Melissa and Fyheem are beautiful kids who have an enormous amount to offer the world. What they need most is a loving home where their talents will be nurtured and their energies directed. They would like a family with a similar ethnic background as them.

Like Kimora Lee Simmons, Tikeria dreams of owning her own fashion empire, earning millions from her very own fashion line. When not daydreaming of her future, Tikeria enjoys watching the Jamie Foxx show, playing Mancala or drawing. Tikeria would thrive in a structured, loving home that will encourage and support her as she receives therapies to deal with the many losses in her life. A family that can be patient while Tikeria learns to love herself again is preferred.

Jerrel is a charming young man with a bright smile and big heart. He is shy when he intially meets new people, but will soon warm up as he gets to know them better. He is lovable and able to bestow upon his future adoptive parents an abundance of joy and fulfillment. Jerrel needs a loving family that will be committed to him and assist him to develop to his full potential.

Meet Kenneth

Kenneth

With a twinkle in his eye and a mischievous grin, Kenneth hopes to win your heart. He is very talkative and eager to learn. He loves to be the center of attention and doesn't hesitate to ask questions. He enjoys basketball, soccer, dogs and video games; he's also a "huge fan" of the outdoors and enjoys catching lizards, frogs and grasshoppers.

Kenneth must have a family with clear, consistent rules to help him reach his full potential. Kenneth has a lot going for him but needs the one thing most important to any child - a permanent and loving family.

This child would benefit from a family that can meet his medical needs.

Aim'ee is a very caring young lady, and she believes in doing what is right to help others. Her favorite subject is math, even though it doesn't always come easy to her. In addition to math, she likes to write poetry. She also loves all things "girly" - hair, makeup, clothes, and shopping!

Aim'ee enjoys hanging out and spending time with her friends and two brothers.

Meet Travis, Tylee, Jamia

Travis, Tylee, Jamia

Travis is 14 years old and is a friendly and outgoing teen who enjoys playing with any type of electronics. He has a beautiful smile and is an engaging child. Travis is the oldest of this sibling group and is eager to be part of a family with his younger brother Tylee and sister Jamia. Travis and enjoys being active and playing with other children. Tylee enjoys helping others and would like to be a teacher when he grows up.

Sometimes it's hard to be heard when you're in the middle, but with 13 year old Tylee's irresistibly funny sense of humor he usually finds a way. His sweet, charming, sincere demeanor draws others to him, and his compassion for people makes Tylee a great friend to have. A few of his favorite hobbies are cooking, drawing and playing outside, and he truly enjoys being with his siblings, both of whom he admires a great deal.

They are great kids who desire a loving and peaceful home where they can live and grow together. They will thrive in a patient and encouraging, two-parent home, and will greatly benefit from a strong and consistent support system.

Meet Frank

Frank

Frank is a non-verbal child who most enjoys swimming and spending time in the water. He’s very tactile and likes the smell and feel of flowers. The sounds of music are very relaxing for him. He is a wide-eyed, alert, inquisitive, and enjoys the simple things in life and the outdoor. He likes going to the park where he can run free and observe nature.

Frank is very sincere and loves to express himself through gestures. Like any young boy, Frank loves to play with toys, especially musical ones. Frank also likes to have his quiet time, as he can be a bit shy. But once he warms up to you, his introverted ways disappear.

Frank loves to eat home cooked meals and would love to have a family that enjoys eating together. Frank needs a family that will provide love, guidance, patience and consistency that every child deserves. In return, Frank will bring love and joy to his lucky future family.

Christopher (age 13 and better known as Chris). Chris is more emotional and likes music and more artistic activities. He is active in the church choir and cherishes his iPod. Chris may appear shy and intimidated, but he is thinking about all the questions that he is going to ask you once he has gotten to know you a little bit. He also likes to play video games.

Christopher will do best with a family that is open to working with him, engaging familial bonds. Christopher is loving and affectionate with so much to offer a family.

Meet Samuel

Samuel

Samuel has many diverse talents and interests including sports and the arts. He plays basketball and has recently been involved in a karate class; he also loves to watch football on TV. Samuel is a great dancer, too, and loves to break dance. He dreams of becoming a police officer in his community. Samuel currently attends a school to help him improve his frustration tolerance. He feels he would be an asset to any household and would love the opportunity to have a loving and caring family. He would do well in a two-parent home with lots of structure and guidance.

Mario’s a charismatic, funny young man who makes friends with just about everyone he meets. His openness and friendly nature generally puts him in a position of leadership, which he takes on with confidence, and this attribute is displayed most plainly on the football field. Mario is a very talented athlete, and has aspirations of playing professionally one day. He also works hard in school and has seen a lot of improvement in his grades this past school year. Mario desires a strong male role model in his life, and hopes for a home with not only a father, but older brothers as well. He would prefer a family of the same race as him. Mario will thrive in a supportive, active home that will help to keep him on the right path and encourage his many abilities.

Meet Jaylan and Mi'luv

Jaylan and Miluv

Brother and sister duo Jaylan and Mi'luv are a giggly pair that fiercely watches out for one another. The two are so synced up that they sometimes even finish each other's sentences. Jaylan loves football – "and basketball, too!" little sister pipes in – and pepperoni pizza and giraffes. "They have long legs and they like to eat a lot," Jaylan explains.

Mi'luv agrees that pizza is the best, but finds zebras, Hannah Montana and Power Rangers more to her liking. Both wish to one day visit faraway lands, like "Africa or Jamaica," whispers Mi'luv. "Or Texas," suggests Jaylan. Why Texas? "I want to ride a bull," he says. "And no matter how many times I fall off, I'm gonna get right back on and try again!"

The two hope for a forever home together, one where they can exchange snuggles and hugs with their new mom and dad, and where they can continue to share secrets, and also to grow, laugh and daydream together about traveling across the Sahara – Jaylan on a giraffe, Mi'luv on a zebra.

Meet Jackeline, Gregory and Claude

Claude, Gregory and Jackeline

Playful siblings, Gregory and Claude, like to play with toys and video games while older sister, Jackeline, watches over them. It's a typical scenario for this close-knit family of three looking to find a forever family.

Jackeline likes to go shopping and to the movies with friends from her school. She can by shy at first, but once you get to know her, she's a charming girl. Her brother, Claude, is closest in age and can also be quiet at times. The youngest brother, Gregory, is the cut-up! He likes to laugh, play and talk about whatever is going on at the moment.

These wonderful siblings are triple the fun for a family with a big heart and a big home!

Jesse

Intelligent and shy, Jesse prefers the comfort of being at home. His hobbies include playing video games, reading, dancing and listening to Michael Jackson. Outside the home, Jesse enjoys brief outings such as going out to eat for Mexican food. Jesse also enjoys unearthing the history of World War II and hopes to one day become a video game designer. Jesse is currently being raised Jewish, and we are seeking families open to preserving his religious beliefs and practices. The ideal family will be committed to helping Jesse by accepting his eccentricities and unique personality, which demands a routine schedule. Although Jesse's family may need to adjust the family routine, Jesse's intelligent mind will keep them interested in what this quiet teen has in store for his future.

Travino

Travino is athletic and always game to play any sport. Indoor hobbies include playing video games, reading Diary of A Wimpy Kid, watching Spongebob on television and watching movies. Favorite board games include Sorry, Mancala and Monopoly. Travino is sometimes quiet, somewhat serious and often silly. When he wants to be, he is very helpful, respectful and a lot of fun to be around. Like most kids, Travino loves to get his way and will protest when he does not. He has high energy and is impulsive at times and doesn't always think about the consequences of his actions. He admits that he gets mad a lot; especially when he doesn't get his way, but he is learning and practicing skills to manage his emotions. School can be challenging for Travino, but he is proud of the recent improvements he has made. With his commitment and rededication to his schoolwork and the support of a tutor, Travino has raised his scores by two whole grades!

Travino hopes he will find a forever family that will be proud of his accomplishments no matter how big or small. He hopes they will support him and make him feel confident in achieving his goals. Travino also longs for a family that will compliment him and make him feel special, even though he feels shy and a bit embarrassed when they do.

Travino enjoys Christian rap and hopes to join a family of the same faith and values. He prefers to join a family with both a mother and a father, if possible. He loves dogs and would love to have family pets. Travino also wishes to maintain in contact with his siblings and cousins.
