Governor’s Message

At any given moment, more than 1,000 Florida children are available for adoption and waiting for a family to call their own. These beautiful children can complete an existing family or help the right person create a new one. The benefits of adopting Florida’s children are many. A permanent home gives a child an enduring identity, an ability to put down roots and form attachments, a place to come home for the holidays, to discover and cultivate talents, to follow their aspirations and to love with the reassurance that they are loved back. The simple gift of looking toward the future as part of a family is powerful and life changing. Every child deserves a safe, secure, loving and permanent family.

I am extremely proud of our many adoptive families and I am proud of the ongoing support our communities provide them. Because of the many individuals and organizations committed to caring for Florida’s children, we can all look toward a brighter future.
